The non-profit organization International Information System Security Certification Consortium, also known as ISC2, today published a new assessment guide that explains how artificial intelligence security concepts are incorporated throughout its cybersecurity certification portfolio.
The new Assessment Guide for Artificial Intelligence seeks to address the growing need for professionals to maintain AI systems and manage AI-related risks as adoption increases. It gives exam students and their employers an insight into how AI security concepts are included in the ISC2 certification exam.
The ISC2 Exam Guide for Artificial Intelligence maps where AI concepts appear in over 50 core cybersecurity exam areas across the entire ISC2 certification portfolio.
The new guidance is the culmination of a three-year test update cycle that included job evaluation, test design development, note-taking, peer review, standardization and publication. Certified subject matter experts and experts from the field have also confirmed that ISC2 assessments reflect the real-world needs of the AI cybersecurity era.
The same experts will also incorporate activities focused on AI and security aspects into the certification exam plan to ensure that ISC2 exams remain relevant, timely and rigorous.
“ISC2’s rigorous certification process ensures that we stay abreast of the changing work environment and the knowledge, skills and abilities required by cybersecurity professionals to effectively protect their organizations,” said Chief Operating Officer Casey Marks. “Today’s guidance shows how securing AI systems is being increasingly incorporated into our exams, requiring exam candidates to demonstrate their expertise in addressing one of today’s most pressing security challenges.”
ISC2 also integrates AI throughout its continuing education opportunities for existing members and cybersecurity professionals who want to build and demonstrate their AI security skills. Offerings include AI security certification, courses, research and peer-reviewed articles that share best practices.
With AI included in its course materials, ISC2 says professionals who would like to demonstrate their AI security skills can be confident that obtaining an ISC2 qualification and access to a range of further education opportunities will help them advance their careers in an increasingly AI-centric world.
ISC2 is the world’s largest association of cybersecurity professionals, with more than 265,000 certified members and partners.
